Naps Used To Be Easy...

A couple of months ago, when it was nap time Serra would let me wrap her in her favorite blanket and I'd give her a pacifier and stuffed animal. Then I'd leave the room and she would just fall asleep herself. However, we took a vacation over Thanksgiving and she had to be comforted and rocked because she didn't recognize where she was. And now ever since then the naps and bedtime have become progressively worse. So now today I said enough is enough [after Ian and I wasted 1 1/2 hours trying to put her down], and I refuse to pick her up. I let her scream for a little bit and then I go back in to re-wrap her, etc. But then I leave again and that continues. We have tried all kinds of things and nothing has really worked- so I hope we can stick to this long enough that eventually she'll be my easy-going napper again! [And boy am I "excited" for when we take the pacifiers away!]

Oh, man. I know what you mean. I'm having the same problem with Addison. Thankfully (and unthankfully), I don't have the pacifier issue to deal with.

My girls get a solid 10 minutes of crying and then I go in and make sure there is nothing wrong then I go 15 minutes etc... so far it seems to work esp to get them back on schedule from all the holidays(please keep in mind the only one that naps is Gen right now!)..Good luck and keep it up you are a great mom!

I went through the pacifier thing with my two boys at once when ethan was 3 and derrick was 2. We knew it would be impossible to take one and not the other! It really only took about 2 days and they were just fine! if i had known how easy it would be I would have done it a lot sooner! It was so nice not to spend half my day looking for binkys anymore!
