Simply Fun

I have signed on to be a consultant for SimplyFun. It's a great company with great family-oriented products. I'm excited to start my new business [many of you will be receiving invites!] :) I have tried a few of these at-home consultant jobs and have been unimpressed by commissions, the products, or even the company's values. But this company has blown me away- I just had to sign up! Any company who's mission is:

To promote the importance of play & create lifelong memories that enhance the quality of life for our consultants, customers & employees.

Just has to be a good company! I've played a lot of the games and when I get my starter kit in the mail I'll own a lot of them. For more information, you can visit my website at kristenmacgregor.simplyfun.com

And for those of you who would like to earn some free or discounted products by hosting a party [not to mention have a night filled with fun because all we do at the parties is play the games!] just let me know- if you don't live in the Utah area, I may come visit your area soon- you never know! :)

You make me wanna cry!

I was extremely busy all day today with an enrichment activity for tonight- I'm on the enrichment board, so I get sucked into spending all day setting up for it. :) Anyway, Serra was clearly feeling left out and didn't like having to spend a lot of time at home with Daddy. One of the times I came home, she was playing downstairs while Ian was upstairs. I open the garage door to walk in and she says, "Mama?" [It's a question because she couldn't see who was walking in the door yet.] And so I walk around the corner and say, "yup, it's me!" And she just beams at me and seriously BOLTS towards me, running faster than full speed right into my arms. She gives me a hard squeeze and huge kiss and I think- I couldn't possibly love her more and I missed her, too! Then... she refuses to let me set her down and I start wanting to go back to help out at the church. :) No not really, but she does grate on my nerves sometimes. But I'll always remember how she greeted me today- I seriously shed a couple tears!

On a sad note, we found out that the home we wanted to purchase [someday!] in Pocatello sold. So we'll have to find another one to pine over and watch sell before we sell our home... or maybe this time we'll be lucky and sell our home first! Wish us luck!

2009 Native American Dollar Coin

For those of you who do not know, I am a major coin collector. I have been starting to put my focus on American coins instead of other countries- especially with all the new developments coming out this year. One of which I have not been able to track down....

This is the reverse side of the first of a series of new "Sacagawea" dollars issued this year. They are supposed to be in circulation, but all the banks in our area say that they will not be getting any of them. I would much rather prefer one in circulation- I don't necessarily like freshly minted coins for my collection, and they are a lot cheaper that way! If any of you happen across one, or find out where you can get one, please let me know- I'd be happy to pay you back for it! :)

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Here's Serra with our Irish dinner of corned beef & cabbage... or as close as I'm ever going to make it! [corned beef gravy over toast and cabbage coleslaw!]

And here we are in our green duds.

Kids Say The Darndest Things

This is what I have amounted to...

While we eat meals at the table, Serra has come up with several games for us to play. One of her favorites it to either show us something or point at it and say "wuz da?" [what's that?]. We're then expected to say what it is and she uses this game to learn new words.

Well, this morning for breakfast, she was pointing at the table, her placemat, the wall... normal stuff, and Ian was saying "table", "placemat", "wall"... then she points her finger at me and says "wuz da?" What is that indeed, Serra. :)

It Must Be Love!

My friend just sent me these pictures in an email to prove what she told me her son was doing...

Serra decided that she wanted to give one of her recent pictures to her "boyfriend" Benjamin.
Apparently Benjamin really appreciates the picture- and kisses it every day! :)

I was organizing some pictures I just took off my camera and came across this one from February... I just had to post it.

Go BYU!!!

We went to the last home game for BYU- against Air Force. It was a lot of fun for us- and for Serra. Our babysitter canceled and we didn't know what we were going to do with Serra. But she was a very good girl and enjoyed the game a lot- especially since they shot up a bunch of confetti at the end. :)

Craft of the Month- February

I made a few things, but the most useful so far has been the beanbags I made for a game I bought at D.I. for $2. It's called Toss-Across and is a spin on Tic-Tac-Toe. Serra LOVES it- and it's even fun for Ian and I. When I bought it from D.I. [a second-hand store much like Salvation Army, but WAY cooler :) ], it came with everything but the beanbags. But beanbags are so easy to make that I whipped up 2 different sets- 9 of each- in just a couple of days!

To Mom...

Today would have been my mother's 49th birthday. She always loved her birthday because it was easy to remember: March "forth" [fourth]. I don't remember that last time we celebrated her birthday- my memories from then are a little fuzzy- but I do remember the celebrating in general. Mom would usually make us our favorite meal for dinner for our birthdays. But for hers, Dad would make it- or most likely we'd go out- so she could have a break. Those of you who knew my mother would agree that she was always a very cheerful person- fun to be around. Even when she was in pain, you wouldn't know because she always had a smile on her face and was more worried about everyone else than what was going on with her. I've been thinking about her a lot lately- probably because I am a mother myself now and understand her love for me a little better because of it. But also just because in general I miss her- and wish I had her advice and guidance during this time in my life. I know that at times she is with me [and my siblings], and I hope that she is still happy and able to enjoy her birthday. Happy birthday, mom!

Serra- will you set the table?...

And this is what we get!

I just love that she gives me all the toppings for our baked potatoes and Daddy's cup is just thrown on his plate [and none of our plates match]. But not bad for a 19 month old, right?
